The gamma filter allows you to adjust the gamma setting of your video clip. Gamma is a technical term which refers to the non-linear brightness response of the output of computer screens. Subjectively, it makes the movie brighter or darker. If you edited your clips on Windows and are viewing them on the Mac, they may be too bright. Or if you edited them on a Mac and are viewing them on Windows, they may be too dark. You can use the Gamma filter to correct for this effect.

  33. There is only one parameter for the gamma filter, and that is the ‚ÄúGamma‚Äù setting. Lower numbers will make the image appear brighter, and higher numbers will make it appear darker.
